Small Praying Buddha figurine in Soapstone
Soapstone is a soft, talc-based stone often used for carving.
This statue represents the Thai Buddha, or historical Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama. He is sitting in the lotus position. His 2 hands joined in prayer perform Atmanjali Mudra. They represent our 2 sides (the spiritual and the material) and the two energies (solar and lunar), which come together here thanks to the 2 joined hands.
Height of the statuette: 8 cm
Buddhist philosophy advises us to foster positive states of mind: contentment, patience, kindness, wisdom, and compassion.
Please note that this figurine should not be washed as soapstone is very brittle and crumbles. To clean it, you can gently wipe the figurine with a clean, dry cloth.
