White Ganesh Resin Statue 14 cm
Ganesh, also known as Ganesha or Ganapati, is depicted with an elephant head and a human body.
The story of his unique appearance is as follows:
Parvati, the mother of all gods, created Ganesh from the earth itself and then breathed life into him. One day, while Parvati was taking a bath, she asked Ganesh to stand guard. When Shiva, Parvati’s husband, tried to enter, Ganesh did not let him pass. Furious, Shiva cut off Ganesh's head. Deeply saddened, Parvati asked Shiva to bring her son back to life. Shiva then ordered his servants to find the first sleeping creature and cut off its head to revive Ganesh. They found a sleeping elephant, and thus Ganesh received an elephant’s head.
Each element of Ganesh’s appearance has particular significance:
- His large trunk, called "Gaja Mukha," symbolizes his mastery of speech and wisdom.
- His large belly represents the ability to absorb all of life's experiences, both good and bad.
- His two tusks, called "Ankusa" and "Pasha," represent the control of passions and the capture of ignorance.
- In one hand, Ganesh holds a modaka (a sweet), representing the fruit of meditation and wisdom.
- In the other hand, he performs the mudra of appeasement.
Ganesh transcends cultural boundaries and has become a universal symbol of wisdom and protection.
"May Ganesh's wisdom illuminate your path, may his trunk remove obstacles, and may his presence bring peace to your heart."
