Sukothai necklace in horn, leather and wood

Sukothai was the capital of the Kingdom of Siam in 1238. Today there are some admirable monuments, including giant Buddhas, making it a favorite destination for tourists.

Sukothai necklace is made of horn, leather cord, wooden beads and hypoallergenic metal clasp (zinc alloy).

The horn used for the pendant comes from domesticated animals such as the water buffalo or the zebu. These animals are used in the fields, and when they grow old and die, their meat is used for food and their bones and horns as raw material for local crafts.

Leather offers a nice, solid texture for the necklace cord. The metal clasp secures the necklace around the neck comfortably and reliably. The entire Sukothai necklace offers a unique aesthetic, showcasing the beauty of natural materials and craftsmanship.

Traditional jewelry like this necklace reflects the history and culture of the region, and can be used as a symbol of local crafts and cultural identity.
