WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY?

Reflexology is a gentle and effective wellness technique based on the idea that the soles of the feet and the palms of the hands (as well as other areas of the body such as the ears or face) contain points that correspond to organs and the different systems of the body.

By massaging these “reflex zones”, with the hands or using special tools such as reflexology sticks, the corresponding areas of the body are stimulated by mirror effect.

Reflexology was already practiced by the Chinese and Egyptians around 2400 B.C.

This ancient technique revitalises the body’s energy flow and promotes healthy blood circulation. It reduces tension, relieves pain, and stimulates the body’s natural self-healing ability.

Reflexology can help ease certain pains, improve circulation (blood, lymph, vital energy), enhance toxin elimination, reduce stress, and help the body regain balance. It also supports better digestion, immunity, and sleep quality.

Examples of reflex zones and their benefits

  • Tips of the toes, fingertips, earlobe: may help relieve headaches and reduce stress.
  • Center of the big toe: corresponds to the pituitary gland and may help rebalance the hormonal system.
  • Arch of the foot: supports digestion and helps relieve stomach discomfort.
  • Heels: may help alleviate menstrual pain.
  • Inner edge of the foot: associated with back pain and posture improvement.
  • Outer side of the hand (near the little finger): corresponds to the shoulders and may help reduce pain and tension.
  • Lower part of the palm: can strengthen kidney function and reduce fatigue.
